Well, it was time. Scoopie's at 46k+ miles and it was time for an oil change and other little things. Kewl. Dropped her off this morning a little ahead of time (we like 2 be prompt) so I wouldn't be too late getting 2 work. My SA, David, bless his pea-pickin' heart, took my key and placed it in a little gizmo that 'reads' everything that happened w/Scoopie since the last time I had her at Sterling. I was 1dering if it told EVERYTHING ... :hmm: ... David didn't make any noises or funny faces, so I guess it was all good.
After checking her in and leaving the valet key for the technician (a real cutie, btw), it was time 2 get a loaner car. Never had 1 w/'Loaner Car' written on the rear window b4, but it was cool. I drove the BRG 2010 Cooper, which was an experience. First, there was the key fob thingy--a little circular piece of gadgetry that fits in2 a little slot next to an 'On/Off' button in the dash behind and a little 2 the right of the steering wheel. The rental car guy (4got his name) talked me thru it and, in no time, I was on my way to work. Needless 2 say, little BRG Cooper purred me 2 work like a charm. 8-)
Later in the day, I got a call from David (was she done already???) was what I was thinking ... YAY! Uhhh ... no. Apparently, Scoopie had a cracked strut mount. A whaaaat?!? :o Something on Scoopie is CRACKED?!? o_O Oh, no, no, NO! We can't have that! Fix it! Oh ... wait ... hold on, now. Erm. What does that cost? :-S An additional $400+. *gulp* However, he did say I could wait on it, but nooo ... not an option. I'd already budgeted $700 4 everything, so, hey ... what's another $100? :farewell: I told him to go ahead w/it now, so I won't have 2 worry about it later, let alone get worse in the meantime. He assured me that she'd ride much better, which is a good thing. I asked David if the additional work would warrant an overnight stay, and he no, it wouldn't; Scoopie'll be ready this afternoon. YAY! :D He called around 3pm to confirm she was indeed ready, which was great, and I couldn't wait 2 see her. He said she'd been washed, as well. Ooooo! There's nothin' like a fresh, sparkly MINI, is there? 8-)
So, I went back after work 2 pick Scoopie up and drop off the loaner. First, I hadda pay the bill. x( *ouch* Did that, and was informed that Scoopie would be right outside momentarily. Woo-hooo! I stepped outside and waited a few moments, eyeing a couple of other MINIs on the lot. Some really nice colors, and they were sooo puuurrrty! Then, here came Scoopie! All sparkly 'n whatnot ... just made me smile 2 see her. I got in and on the beltway--David was right ... she rides soooo much better now! Thank u, David & Passport MINI 4 taking such good care of my baaaabyyyyy! :)
