Just wanted to say HI and pass along our holiday wishes to our freinds at MONDO-MINIs. Hope to see you out on the twisties :) This has been a wonderful year, highlited by our trip to MINI United, but with lots of fun at other Mini events as well. We are so happy to have met and become freinds with so many of you. Have a great year. If anyone makes it out to northern California, please contact me. I am sure we can set up a few great MINI drives in the mountains.
Cheers for now and as always.....…

Well, it was time. Scoopie's at 46k+ miles and it was time for an oil change and other little things. Kewl. Dropped her off this morning a little ahead of time (we like 2 be prompt) so I wouldn't be too late getting 2 work. My SA, David, bless his pea-pickin' heart, took my key and placed it in a little gizmo that 'reads' everything that happened w/Scoopie since the last time I had her at Sterling. I was 1dering if it told EVERYTHING ... :hmm: ... David didn't make any noises or funny faces, so…

Went 2 see the rehearsal movie this morning, prepared for ... I dunno ... reminiscing ... the flash ... style ... charisma ... etc. Got all that and then some. I read Chris What's-His-Name's review in the Post on Thursday, and got the feeling the movie was so-so. NOT! I loved watching the meticulous precis…

Me & Scoopie ... sittin' in a tree ... r-o-l-l-i-n-g .... ahhhhhh ... oh, what a relief it IS!
Y'all, it's been a hella three months, I'm here 2 tellya! I felt like joining the lost & 4lorn ... perched on a prime piece of sidewalk somewhere in MD w/my sign: :help: Scoopie needs braces! However, after all the 2-1/2-hr Metrobus/rail rides, losing and having 2 replace a SmarTrip card, last-minute taxicab calls after gettin' fed up w/Metro's schedules, freezin' out here in the bitter…

I just read this from an article on Yahoo 8-) Not bad! At least they aren't using the words "cute" or "gay" (in a derogatory tone):
Here is the text from the "MINI" paragraph and a link to the rest:
"Mini Mindset
If you'd like to cultivate an image of sophistication, try buying a Mini Cooper. The line of Lilliputian hatchbacks appeals to urbane buyers with median incomes of around $125,000. But aside from wealth, Mini owners are a tough bunch to pin down, demographically speaking, since…

More than 30 DC / Virginia/ Maryland MINI enthusiasts joined up for a romp through the back roads for 2+ hours yesterday, followed by food (of course). Awesome weather, beautiful scenery and spirited driving made a great combination!

Sooo, I was thinking I need a more unique and thoughtful name for my ride. MINI Tex is cute but it doesn't really show the personality of the MINI brand or culture. So, I begin my venture in naming my ride.

Skylar is a great daily driver but the miles are really adding up fast, so I took a week of driving to work "off" and have been driving the '01 Corolla automatic. I did take it out for an errand or two, but not enough to satisfy the craving. And, wow what a letdown on the commute!
I'm pumped to get out and hit some curves this weekend. In just one week, I saved more than 500 miles by leaving Skylar in the garage.
What about you, how many miles are you putting on your Mini? What's the longest y…

I was invited today to join DC area Porche club owners at Summit Point for Driver Training day, and to run a 15 minute session in a Ruf Porche. WoW. That was sweet! Pictures coming soon.

I'm advancing with the Dallas Cowboys themed MINI, I added the door graphics and the Ring of Honor (ROH) names. The next steps are to do the following: 1. Add the Roger Staubach and Drew Pearson jersey seat back covers, 2. Pigskin the dash and inner portion of the door panels, 3. install green carpet and add the 20 yardline markers on each side in the front leg area, 4. Replicate the Dallas end zone in the back of the MINI, 5. Repaint the bonnet and integrate the stripe used on the Dallas Cowboy…

I wish there was a 'talk-to-the-hand' emoticon available, cuz that's exactly what I'd use here.
As I'm sure you all have seen, Suzuki is branding their little SX4 as
mightier than the Mini and, frankly, that tagline is workin' my last nerve. OK. They're touting their ugly (yeah, I…

Hello Fellow Miniacs,

artist, OK?), I frequently visit different sites to check out the fantastic talents others have, and ... ahem ... jealously covet those talents. Seriously. Well, on one of these recent travels, I ca…

Well, it seems I've joined the nonworking club of Americans. Got laid off from a job I'd held after eight years this past March, and I initially considered it as a 'forced vacation', so to speak. However, after four months, it's morphed in2 a 'scary situation', and I'm not liking it one iota. Same thing happened about 10 years ago, when I was among the 'last hired, first fired' population of a gov't contracting company's 'reorganization'. At that time, it was relatively easy to find another job…

Hi my name is Nick and I believe I may have met some of you at MINI United. I had a great time and was fortunate to be able to work along side Russ Swift at MINI United promoting a brand new MINI show to the UK called NEW MINI DAY.
New Mini Day is really a weekend event. You don't have to drive a MINI to be able come. Whatever you drive, everybody loves the MINI and everybody is welcome.
So what makes NEW MINI DAY - NEW? Quite simply this is an interactive event. Rather than visiting a show wi…
