Hey folks-

Anyone else getting excited yet about the Phil Wicks MDA coming up in three weeks? Especially cool news about the Sunday barbecue and tech inspection at the track!

Don't forget to check your fluids, rotate your tires and torque the lug bolts, shine your helmets and pack a pair of gloves to keep your hands warm... we might be driving with open windows in chilly temperatures. Wouldn't THAT be a nice change from July?

I sure wish I was going but money was/is a little tight so I decided not to go :(

The temps are going to be a whole lot better then that hotstuff we had in July and we were all sweating our a$$es off.

I was at Summit Point last weekend and really enjoyed watching some of the new drivers doing laps with instructors. I was there helping an old friend with his Factory Five Cobra and what a beast of a car that is.

I'm in the same boat at seemingly everyone else. I soooo wanted to go but money got tight so I have to sit this one out. :*(

I think this event will be so much better than the July one. Perfect weather, they'll be more organized and add the BBQ.

HoHum.....

I'm sure we'll get back next year.

Me as well. : (

Works, budget, ..... etc. This year doesn't seems to be a good year for my motoring activities.

Sorry some of you missed .. it was great !!!

For me particulary ...
I improved my personal speed around the track from 1:47:90 in July
to 1:42:31 leaving behind a couple of men including the other GP :)
and I got home without a speeding ticket !!

Very nice. What do you think helped improve your time so much? Weather, tires, familiarity with the track?

My new instructor made me change the shifting, I was taking the first curve on 3rd gear and kept pretty much on 3rd all the way then down shift to 2nd as i was turning into the oak tree...
this way I carried much more speed on the straight line ... I was coming of the oak sweeper at 70mph ... very rarely I check my speed but and when I did I noticed 73 out of the oak tree (compare the earlier 55) and up to 119 (a couple of times I looked) on the straight line - of course on 5th -

Familiarity with the course helped , too... tires not so much..

Check the video John posted on NAM - He was right behind me ..
