In my past two attempts with the Prima line I kept ending up with a real tight swirl in Wensley's finish. Consulting with several folks on NAM and Octaneguy, it was thought that I was getting contamination from flying debris (leaf particles, dust etc - usually from the neighbors yard work) settling on the finish. The swirl had the "pattern" of the PC as it revolves so I was convinced it was coming from here rather than another stage.
Thankfully I was fortunate to get into one of our member's garage yesterday and give Wensley the full treatment. The garage eliminated the outside contamination issue but as I started the Prima Swirl passes I again noticed the tight swirls forming, the more I tried to PC them out the worse they got ! Hmmmm time to change strategy.......I decided to switch from the Orange pad to the white pad.......back on to the car and.......WOW ! That was it, the swirls started to disappear, other fine scratches now revealed started to disappear. It just got better and better. A pass with Amigo and then a coat of Epic and a new Wensleydale emerged ! She looks fantastic !
I finished up with a coat of BG, pulled the tape and Hydro'd the residue at the tape off along with the black bits. I did the BG pass hoping to seal in the Epic since I knew she would end up in the rain overnight. Luckily I made it home before the rain started, it sucks not having a roof over her head.
Thanks again to my host whom was most patient with me since I took all freaking day to do it ! Wensley and I are in your debt !
Cheers !
